BRI Peduli and Rabu Biru Foundation Launch the Desa BRILiaN First 1,000 Days of Life Program to Strengthen Posyandu Services Toward Golden Indonesia 2045

Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, through its BRI Peduli initiative and Desa BRILiaN Program, together with Rabu Biru Foundation (RBF), has launched the Desa BRILiaN First 1,000 Days of Life Program in Hargobinangun Village, Sleman Regency.

The program represents a social investment focused on strengthening Posyandu, or integrated community health post, services as a foundation for developing Indonesia’s human capital from the earliest stages of life.

Through this collaboration, BRI Peduli provides funding and supports village development through its Social and Environmental Responsibility Program, known as TJSL. RBF serves as the strategic implementation partner responsible for developing and implementing a community-based model to strengthen Posyandu services. The initiative is designed to translate the First 1,000 Days of Life Program into action through a collaborative, cross-sectoral approach.

As an initial step, RBF revitalised Posyandu Matahari in Hargobinangun Village, which will serve as a pilot model for strengthening Posyandu services under the Desa BRILiaN First 1,000 Days of Life Program.

Posyandu Matahari was inaugurated by BRI Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Dinne Shovia Tresna Amalia and Sleman Regent Harda Kiswaya, accompanied by Rabu Biru Foundation Chairman Toro Sudarmadi and a representative of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr Niken Wastu Palupi, Director of Health Promotion and Community Health.

The revitalisation has not only upgraded the facilities and infrastructure but has also transformed the Posyandu into a centre for maternal and child health services, nutrition education, community health worker capacity building, and family support throughout the First 1,000 Days of Life.

Going forward, Posyandu Matahari is expected to become a model of good practice that can be replicated across different regions to support the strengthening of primary healthcare services and the development of Indonesia’s human capital toward Golden Indonesia 2045.

The First 1,000 Days of Life constitute the most critical phase of human development, determining a person’s health, brain development, learning capacity, productivity, and future competitiveness. Investment during this period is therefore a long-term investment in achieving the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

RBF Chairman Toro Sudarmadi emphasised that Posyandu should be viewed as more than a facility providing routine basic healthcare services.

“Posyandu must become a centre for First 1,000 Days of Life services that not only provides community-based basic healthcare but also strengthens nutrition education, empowers community health workers, and supports families. By building strong Posyandu services, we are laying the foundation for an outstanding generation of Indonesian human capital.”

BRI Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility stated that the social investment made by BRI Peduli through the Desa BRILiaN Program reflects the company’s commitment to improving the quality of Indonesia’s human capital through interventions during the most decisive period of human development.

The Regent of Sleman emphasised that successful health development requires collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders.

“The success of the First 1,000 Days of Life Program requires the collaboration of all parties. Synergy among the government, the private sector, and communities is essential to ensuring that every mother and child receives the best possible services from the earliest stages of life.”

The Desa BRILiaN First 1,000 Days of Life Program has been developed as a collaborative model that can be replicated across Indonesia. In addition to strengthening Posyandu services, the program establishes coordination among village governments, community health centres, local health offices, the private sector, and communities. This enables interventions for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children under five to be delivered in a more targeted, measurable, and sustainable manner.

Through the Desa BRILiaN First 1,000 Days of Life Program, BRI Peduli and Rabu Biru Foundation aim to establish a social investment model that creates tangible benefits for communities while inspiring more development partners to collaborate in strengthening Indonesia’s First 1,000 Days of Life Program.

Building a golden generation does not begin when individuals enter their productive years; it begins in the very first days of life.
