Water For Nation Program in Jogjakarta

Gunungkidul — Gapoktan Hutan Jati Makmur in Mulusan Village, Gunungkidul Regency, received agricultural equipment and a layer chicken farming program supported by Rabu Biru Foundation (RBF), with funding assistance from the Alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) in 25 December 2025. The handover ceremony was centered at Karangsari Village Hall, Semin Subdistrict, while the farming activities and program implementation took place in Mulusan Village. The event was attended by Gunungkidul Vice Regent Joko Parwoto, Yogyakarta Regional House of Representatives member Didik Kuswanto, and Gunungkidul Regency House of Representatives member Ekhwan Mulyana from the Gerindra Party.

The assistance included agricultural machinery in the form of a two-wheeled tractor and cultivator, along with 3,000 layer chicken chicks, three months’ supply of feed, and poultry cages. Through technical guidance and capacity-building support facilitated by Rabu Biru Foundation in Mulusan Village, backed by FEB UI alumni contributions, farmers under Gapoktan Hutan Jati Makmur have improved land management and farming practices, successfully increasing harvest frequency from once a year to twice a year. RBF emphasized that the program aligns with efforts to strengthen local food security and improve access to nutritious food for rural communities.

Gunungkidul Vice Regent Joko Parwoto, who symbolically delivered the assistance, appreciated the collaboration between Rabu Biru Foundation, FEB UI alumni, and Gapoktan Hutan Jati Makmur of Mulusan Village. He stressed that the aid should be managed sustainably to create long-term impact rather than being merely ceremonial. With this support, the beneficiary Gapoktan is expected to enhance agricultural and livestock productivity while fostering greater food independence in Gunungkidul Regency.
