Rabu Biru Foundation and InJourney Group Collaborate to Implement Sustainable Agriculture in Morobangun, Prambanan
Sleman, Yogyakarta — Rabu Biru Foundation (RBF) and the state-owned aviation and tourism holding company PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Group collaborated to implement sustainable agricultural practices in Dusun Morobangun, located near Prambanan Temple, Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Sunday (1/12).
Building quality human resources requires the availability of adequate food, nutrition, and health. This collaboration materialized through the practice of sustainable agriculture using organic liquid fertilizer distributed by drones, the results of which were visible during today’s harvest celebration.
To complement these efforts, several health-related initiatives were carried out simultaneously, including health education and check-ups, distribution of nutritious food, and donation of medical equipment.
In implementing this sustainable agricultural solution, RBF received full support from InJourney and its subsidiaries — InJourney Airports, InJourney Destination Management, InJourney Retail, and InJourney Tourism Development Corporation — as well as Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), in partnership with local farmer groups in Dusun Morobangun, Jogotirto Village, Berbah District, Sleman, Yogyakarta.
The use of organic liquid fertilizer applied via drones has increased agricultural productivity by approximately 20%–40% compared to previous methods used by local farmers. To ensure long-term impact, this collaboration also addresses community health through the Desa Sehat (Healthy Village) program.
RBF Chairperson, Henny Daeng Parani, explained:
“In addition to increasing land productivity, the use of organic fertilizer has reached 60% of the village’s total farmland, allowing the ecosystem to be better preserved and more sustainable. We aim for all agricultural land in the village to fully transition to organic liquid fertilizer so that the land ecosystem remains protected for the future.”
RBF Supervisory Board Chair, Siti Hediati Soeharto, praised the application of technology in Morobangun’s farming system, stating that this initiative could serve as a model for the future of agriculture in Indonesia.
“I truly appreciate the use of modern technology such as drones in the agricultural system of Morobangun Village, which has made the entire process far more efficient. We can imagine how productive and environmentally friendly Indonesian agriculture could be if this innovation were implemented nationwide,” she added.
Also present at the harvest ceremony were Herdy Harman (Director of Human Resources and Digital, InJourney), Achmad Syahrir (Director of Human Capital, InJourney Airports), and Yoki Firnandi (CEO of Pertamina International Shipping – PIS).
Herdy Harman stated:
“Tourism is not only about promoting and developing destinations, but also about ensuring that these destinations benefit surrounding communities. As a state-owned holding company in aviation and tourism, InJourney is committed to being an agent of development focused on destination development and community empowerment, particularly for communities around Prambanan Temple, which is one of the destinations we manage.”
He further explained that the collaboration between RBF and InJourney Group is a concrete manifestation of InJourney’s commitment to its Sustainable Tourism Program, which supports inclusive and sustainable tourism development.
“In addition, this program also promotes community empowerment through the Desa Sehat initiative around the Prambanan area,” Herdy concluded.
Realizing a Healthy Village for Community Well-Being
As part of this initiative, modern agricultural solutions were not RBF’s only effort to improve community welfare. Still in Dusun Morobangun, RBF with support from InJourney Group also conducted various social activities, including health education, medical check-ups, distribution of nutritious food, and donation of medical equipment.
Health education and check-ups were held at Posyandu Ceria Jogotirto, focusing on health education for pre-marital adolescent girls, particularly on puberty, menstruation, and sexuality.
For medical services, RBF deployed healthcare professionals to examine more than 100 general patients and pregnant women. To date, RBF has mobilized 5 Rabu Biru Mobile Health Units, 10 doctors, 25 nurses, and 100 volunteers, providing healthcare services to over 10,000 patients across Java.
Additionally, RBF and InJourney Group distributed nutritious meals to all patients who received medical check-ups, aligning with the government’s vision to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources through better nutrition.
To complete these efforts, RBF together with institutional representatives donated medical equipment to the local posyandu, aimed at improving access to basic healthcare for residents of Dusun Morobangun.
Henny concluded:
“With support from InJourney Group, RBF is spreading this spirit of empowerment to a wider audience to continuously improve community welfare, especially in access to nutritious food sources and basic healthcare.”
